Latest Travel Update

Happenings in Sugar House

Well, as far as travel plans/moving is concerned Eli will be staying in SLC, UT and not going up to rock springs Wyoming as we thought he might, a different guy named john from twin falls will be going up there since he is ahead of schedule on the hotel they are building in Logan Utah. We are waiting to hear about when and the exact location of the apartment project in Kansas City, MO. That project will have 20 buildings with 24 units in each, is the estimate it could change, especially when we see the floor plans which should be completed any day. My computer is down right now so that is why this will not contain photos. I took Ashton to the Sugar house park to feed the ducks a week ago and the duck, Canada geese, and seagulls flocked around us, Ashton was a little scared when you look up and over 50 seagulls are hovering over head just in case you drop some bread. The seagulls were more aggressive than the other birds. The weather here is crazy, Monday is was sunny then as the days continued it would rain, snow, hail, and some all in the same day yesterdays weather was crazy.

Needless to say we are ready for warm spring weather, no more snow. It is slowly going to warm up to 70-75 then get cold again, so i guess we will keep the winter clothes out through may and maybe June. Since it rained, blew, snowed, and hailed most of the day yesterday Eli stayed home for a little while then came home for lunch and then we went with another couple down to the gateway mall where the old train station is located and when to an imax theater presentation on the "Human Body". Ashton kept say he was scared when they would show a red tunnel and it would move, yep the esophagus and intestines working and the stomach with all the contents was nasty, it looked like what a disposal looks like with the mixing motion and bile being secreted. HE would grab my hand and cover his eyes, and say I scared. After the show we walked around the Hansen planetarium and Eli bought one of those toys that has what looks like nails in the container and you put your hand or an object against it and it holds the shape. I am not sure how enjoys it more Eli or Ashton. Ashton made a hand imprint on it this morning so that is the latest creation.

Bridges Jobsite west of the Gateway Mall in Downtown SLC, UTAH

I know this Post has a lot of photos but I went down to the job site today with Eli and Ashton and so I finally remembered to bring the camera. So to keep it brief I will write a small detail by each picture. Eli went to the top of the 2nd bldg. and took a pic of I-15 he is facing west. This is also on the roof looking at the mall. IT gives you an idea of what the beautiful surrounds are around the apartments.

This picture is the stair/elevator shaft, as you can tell it is not completed yet just a concrete brick hole.

The picture directly below is another view from the roof looking north east, you can see the capital building to the right.

The picture to the left is of the the phase 1 building and parking garage that the cement to the left is the freeway. On the positive side you have quick on and off to the freeway.

Below is the first building, The roof is on and they have the windows, and are getting ready for exterior and waiting for the bridge connecting the two buildings before it can pass the inspections.

Eli and Ashton standing by the crane. I took one of the outhouse, I thought it was funny with the stickers on the outside and the green saying it is ready for use.

This is the commuter train they are going to have running by the end of the month, yes just south of the job site is a major train line.

The bridge that connects the 2 buildings.

Just past the bridge you can see how close the buildings are to each other.

Yeah, I wont be living there, I just thought the sign was funny, good advertising right by the freeway.

This is the 4th bldg.
Below is looking at the gateway and it does have a temple view, if you look close.
The crane that they use to move walls.

Drinking after a long day of super hero

After a long, hard day of being a super hero (remember the cape from art class) Ashton found a strawberry lemonade container on the counter. He grabbed it and came into the bedroom where I was and sat down on the comforter that he pushed off onto the ground and began to have a swig. Then he noticed I was in the room, He tried to hide the evidence but it was too late and I thought it was hilarious so I grabbed the camera and took a shot of what looked like a little old man drinking in his diaper at the end of a hard days work.

Art Class

This Wednesday at Art class Ashton made a cape. First he used water colors to paint, on what felt like wonder-under fabric, which was awesome because it absorbed the paint and allowed it to dry very fast. Then He squirted glue onto the cape and cute paper, which is scary when he insists the way to cut is for me to hold the paper and for him to move the scissors open and closing with two hands, and you never know if it will get your fingers. Then he was suppose to glue the paper onto the cape but got sidetrack and began hiding under the tables and
jumping on the huge bean bags. So to finish I painted his hands, which you should have seen the disapproving looks I received from parents, we know this is a class for 1 1/2 -3 years, so they will get messy and get paint on clothes so don't bring them in fancy clothes or expect them to not make a mess. Anyway he loved it when I painted his hands and then we pressed them on to the bottom of the cape. He loved it so much he wore it out of class.

What a Morning

Well, This morning I decided I better get a jump on cleaning since Eli's Mom, Kathy, was coming down later in the day to go run errands. So I was picking up and vacuuming, when I see Ashton running around with out a diaper, which means disaster, either he pooped and has remnants on his butt or he peed and took off the diaper and would soon pee on the ground. Then he brought me a camping light I was thinking Thanks until I looked closer, this happens when you have not put your contacts in yet it was only 830am, Well he pooped and then must have dumped it on the ground in his room then smashed it in to a patty with the light and it was stuck to the bottom of the light. I thought about just throwing it away but decided to be better then just get rid of something that still works and get the poop off. I have problems doing things like that because of the smell but we made it then Lysoled the light and looked in the room and lysoled that spot and then cleaned the carpets.

I was just about to return a carpet cleaner I bought because I really don't like how it cleans and it is so loud, I think either it was broke or we broke it luckily I saved the box so I can return it back to Costco. So while I cleaned the carpets Ashton took a bath and is now diapered watching poop bear. Then it is off to the bank and to look for a few containers or something for a wedding Eli's mom is helping decorate. Then to show her where real deals a fun store is, then maybe Tai-pan trading. Well, The monster -Ashton is living up to his name/ I kept asking why did you do this, he would say why, So that was when I knew he better get in the tub and out of my hair. Any way mornings are so fun when your child poops and does not do it in the toilet but does not like to feel icky or sticky butt.
