Neighbors

Our neighbors had twin boys, they think they cry all of the time, we don't hear them. Probably because the last ones had a baby that cried all the time colic. The other neighbors are moving to Texas. We will miss her, her son is rude to her, but the boys have adopted her as another grandma. She has bought us lunch, pop, nachos, and brings us what ever she thinks the boys would enjoy. She has weeded our garden many times and is always happy. Last night the door bell rang and she gave us pork chops at 10pm, earlier it was cleaning supplies, and a bbq. The other neighbors had a domestic dispute and we had 4 cops here and it look like the gangs of ny, I had no ideas so many big hispanics lived in Rexburg we had about 15 of them outside, I used the deadbolt, but realized it didn't really matter because that would not keep people out very long, not the best of deadbolt. The kids were fascinated with the flashing cop lights and police, they wanted to talk to them I kept saying no, shut the door. Needless to say neighbors keep the day interesting.

Hunting for Ladybugs

So the boys love, ok are obsessed with ladybugs. Not sure why, other than they are boys and boys have a things for bugs. Well by our place, they have not finished landscaping by a sidewalk, and sunflower weeds grow between the sidewalk and the road. For some reason the ladybugs love the sunflower so today we went hunting for ladybugs, we collected almost 40. I grabbed a snap ware container, plastic, thought the boys would drop it and it happened. Now the carry it around and I believe it is in their room. I was told to release them at night and they won't fly away. Hopefully they can live through the night and next day. Time will tell. The boys are like kids in a candy store, so enthralled with creatures that have legs, move, eat, and do not bite or sting. Here is to lady bugs.

Scavenger Hunt

A. was getting bored with C.in preschool. So after thinking about some of the classes I have taken I suggested a scavenger hunt. This time we did a shape scavenger hunt. On a piece of paper I wrote then when I finished I had him read it back to me, by the name of the shape I drew the shape.
The paper looked like this, ok it was a composition book.
Find three things that are circles.
1.
2.
3.
Find 3 things that are squares.
1.
2.
3.
Find 3 triangles.
1.
2.
3.
Find 3 rectangles.
1.
2.
3.
Find 3 ovals.
1.
2.
3.
Find 3 animals/bugs with shapes.
1.
2.
3.

To make it more fun, I had him take pictures of the object and then he would write the name. It kept getting hotter and hotter so I began to write the name. It took us about 45 minutes and 2 blocks away to find objects. He would ask for help then now like what I suggested. Typical.

So for circles he used tires, steering wheel, and a daisy.
For squares storm drain, sidewalk, window
For triangles: flower-morning glory made up of triangles, butterfly wings, and a thistle weed had many triangles.
For rectangles we used the curb, sidewalk, and wood stake.
For ovals we used rock, toyota symbol on the back of the car, and a piece of tar or gum smashed on the sidewalk.
For animals/bugs we found an ant--circle for the body, ladybug-circle for black spots,  and a bumble bee, circle on back of body.

It was fun and he enjoyed it. Next time we will do more in depth shapes and go to the park or nature park.

Library

Libraries are a love hate relationship. Nice to check out books, but the can be mean. I tried to return a dvd, my lovely children lost the cover and I can't find it, it has been misplaced for a week. She would not take it back. So I said I don't want late fees, $1 a day, so what should I do, She said you can buy it. Lovely. I know it is not in print. Hopefully we will find it soon, and we will no longer be getting movies from the library. I would rather rent them at Horkleys/ Great Scotts for only a $1 something a day. What made me ticked was she acts like I am the only unresponsible person, well I know other people have late fees and loose things. What about when I have returned items, and they want to charge me for them and they are on the shelf, I was not going to pay $150 for an item I returned.

Camping

So while watching A. play T-ball, I asked C. what do you want for a snack when we go camping? Cam replied "Crackers, drinks, food, boogers", I said "Boogers" Cam, "yeah the ones that are in your nose, you pick em and eat em". I will not be eating that snack but maybe he will.

Sometimes you feel like not doing something and people should just accept it. After all it is my choice.

Registering FOR THE LAST SEMESTER!!!!! YAH

Registering for the last semester. What a feeling. We, ok I survived living in a college town. I had apprehensions about returning to school, will it work out, income, how long, etc? I graduated earlier and now it was my husband's turn. I had a right to wonder what would the outcome be, still not sure but I have been doing a monthly count down since December 2011. Yep and now I only have 6 1/2 months. What I would like to see is a decision, are we contenting on with more education or employment. If it is employment I would like a quick hire, not dragged out. Not sure where, but I know where I do not want to go. And so the wondering continues. Where will be be in a year from now, no idea. I clean a new set of cupboards and closets every week. Why, helping others moves motivates me to de junk, and I know I it is easier to gradually dejunk than to have to make a quick decision. That and really after helping people move and seeing all of their stuff ugh.

However, it will be a long 6 1/2 months. So many reasons but I don't want to share them all. I am excited for the next adventure. Not sure what all it may entail, if I did know I probable would not want to take the ride. Here is to adventures and come what may. I have realized that everything has two sides awesome and not so awesome. Sometimes it takes a while to find the awesome when it seems as if nothing positive could come, however if you look you can find something positive.  Example: We took the kids to Green Canyon, and the boys rode bikes, we drove around, A. chased butterflies. Then we drove and coming back A. wanted to ride his bike, C. fell asleep in his car seat. Well, A. was going over 15 mph, we were driving behind him, going down hill and wipe out. He was going to fast lost control and over the bike, got his forehead, fat upper lip, bloody gums, cut his thumb, got road rash on his cheats, got his knees. So lesson learned bring the helmet.  Positive--> he wore pants and a long sleeve shirt his choice. Then driving back C. woke up and was crying and yelling my tummy hurts. Well I said to Eli I hope he doesn't, "PUKE" I spelled that. Well he said it again I stopped, and let the puking commence. I was getting backspaced on my legs so I grabbed him and moved him to the weeds, let them absorb that nasty stuff right. Then after what seems like eternity he quit. Back into the car only now laying on the seat like he was dying. Then home, what an event. Positive --> The puking happened outside the car. Not sure what caused it.
